The time has come I’ve started eating the dates, a proven strategy to help naturally ripen the cervix (omg definitely not a favorite phrase to say).
The algorithm gods delivered with a recipe for a date smoothie that is yummy and fills me up and lets me get in all 5-6 dates that I need in a day. For the past few days, it’s been my hyper-fixation meal — a go-to for either breakfast or dinner that leaves me satiated.
I’ve always had a sweet tooth, and apple-date-banana-peanut butter bowls have always been in the rotation for breakfasts at our home. I didn’t think the challenge of eating six dates a day would be that difficult.
But I get it now. After a few days on the date train I am getting tired of these things. Even the smoothie is no longer delicious to me, and I think about the dates now just as I do my prenatal vitamins (blah).
But with no signs of baby coming and a deep desire to avoid induction if at all possible…it’s time to innovate on the date-ing game.
